WIDOW AID FOUNDATION COLLABORATES WITH NIGERIA POLICE FORCE, IMO STATE COMMAND, FOR PROTECTION OF WIDOWS
On June 23, 2025, Widow Aid Foundation commemorated International Widows Day with a critical step toward strengthening protection and support systems for widows and their children. The delegation was received by the Commissioner of Police CP Aboki Danjuma.
In line with its mandate to uphold the rights of vulnerable widows, the Foundation formalized a strategic collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force Imo State Command. This partnership is aimed at enhancing legal protection and addressing cases of abuse, neglect, and rights violations affecting widows and their families.
The courtesy meeting provided a platform for dialogue on practical ways to safeguard widows from social and economic exploitation while ensuring that their voices are heard and respected within the legal and security frameworks. Representatives emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts in tackling issues such as property rights violations, domestic abuse, and the welfare of widows.
The event concluded with a shared resolve among both parties to sustain this partnership and work collectively toward improving the lives of widows and their families.
